Your journey begins at 8:30 AM with a scenic drive from Chiang Mai to the peaceful mountain village of Mae Kampong. Along the way, stop at a bustling local market to pick out fresh ingredients for tonight’s dinner, which you’ll help prepare.
Upon arriving in Mae Kampong, you’ll be warmly welcomed by local villagers. Begin your exploration with a guided walk to learn about the village’s rich history and eco-friendly lifestyle. Mae Kampong is renowned for cultivating bai miang, a native plant used to produce herbal tea. In addition to tea, villagers grow coffee and mushrooms, and craft unique products such as decorative tea-filled pillows, rattan baskets, and handmade bamboo furniture.
You’ll enjoy a short trek through the surrounding hills and forest paths—routes can be customized based on your interests and fitness level. Lunch will be served either as a picnic during your walk or at a local homestay. In the afternoon, unwind with a traditional Thai massage, offered by skilled locals.
In the evening, participate in preparing a home-cooked dinner with your host family, followed by an overnight stay in a charming village homestay.
Start your day early at 7:00 AM by joining your host to offer alms to the monks at the village temple—a peaceful and meaningful local tradition. After a homemade breakfast, take a leisurely walk around the village to observe traditional crafts in action, including bamboo hat weaving, herbal product making, and the fermentation process of aged tea leaves.
Later in the morning, depart for the San Kamphaeng Hot Springs, where you can witness boiling water naturally emerging from underground at 100°C—a fascinating geothermal phenomenon.
After this relaxing visit, your driver will take you back to Chiang Mai, arriving around 12:00 PM.
