Arrive in Chiang Rai and enjoy some leisure time to stroll around the city and soak in its peaceful atmosphere.
Overnight in Chiang Rai.
After breakfast, explore Doi Tung Palace—former residence of the King’s Mother. Walk through its breathtaking gardens filled with vibrant floral displays, view the main hall, admire silk embroidery, and take in panoramic views from the balcony.
Continue to Mae Sai, Thailand’s northernmost point and bustling border town with Burma. After lunch (on your own), visit the historic Golden Triangle and take a scenic boat ride on the Mekong River, offering a glimpse into Laos before returning to Chiang Rai.

Visit Chiang Rai’s local morning market followed by Wat Phra Kaew and the Rai Mae Fah Luang museum.
Next, explore the stunning Wat Rong Khun (White Temple)—a contemporary masterpiece blending traditional Buddhist motifs with pop culture imagery.
After lunch (on your own), head to Thaton and visit Thaton Temple for sweeping views of the Kok River.
Overnight in Thaton.
Depart Thaton and visit Chiang Dao Cave, historically used by Burmese troops. Admire fascinating limestone formations inside the cave.
Stop by Mae Malai Market, Mork Fah Waterfall, and Pong Duet Hot Springs—known for geysers and natural spa pools.
Arrive in Pai in the evening.
