Beng Mealea Temple & Rolous Group 1 Day Tour

After meeting our tour guide, we drive to Beng Mealea, an extraordinary 11th-century temple that rivals Angkor Wat in size. Covering 108 hectares, the main temple is surrounded by a 45-meter-wide moat. While it shares the same era as the Angkor temples, its artwork and friezes differ in style and tone, offering a unique contrast to the sculptures of Angkor. Much of the temple remains swallowed by jungle, adding an air of mystery and discovery to the experience.

On the way back, we visit the Rolous Group, which includes Lolei, Preah Ko, and Bakong temples. These structures date back to the late 9th century and represent the earliest monuments of the 600-year Angkor period open to visitors. Located 11 kilometers (6.8 miles) southeast of Siem Reap Market, Bakong, Lolei, and Preah Ko are part of this remarkable complex, with the Bakong temple consisting of four brick towers on a double-tiered platform.
