ANGKOR THOM 1 DAY TOUR

We drive to Angkor Thom, the grand masterpiece of King Jayavarman VII. After the Chams occupied Angkor from 1177 to 1181, the new king decided to build an impregnable fortress at the heart of his empire. Our first stop is the Bayon Temple. Located at the exact center of Angkor Thom, this temple is a stunning expression of the creative genius and self-importance of Cambodia’s most celebrated king. Next, we visit the Terrace of the Leper King, followed by the Terrace of Elephants, which was originally used as a viewing gallery where the king could preside over parades, performances, and traditional sports. At the southern end of the terrace stands the Baphuon, once one of the most beautiful temples at Angkor, dating back to the reign of Uditayavarman I in the 11th century. We then continue to Ta Prohm, famous for its appearance in Tomb Raider. Abandoned to the elements, this temple serves as a poignant reminder that while empires rise and fall, nature’s relentless power endures, oblivious to the dramas of human history. Finally, we journey to Angkor Wat, the mother of all temples. Believed to be the world's largest religious building, this temple is a perfect fusion of symbolism and symmetry, embodying the pride and strength of the Khmer people.
